One of my favourite things in life is to confuse people I meet by telling them that I’m Austrian and speak fluent German, since I’m also American and speak with the same accent as them!
I’m very fortunate to be able to call myself a dual citizen, having spent my early years in beautiful Vienna. My parents are both musicians and music teachers; I fell in love with the piano and music at a young age, a passion that continues to this day.
But then something happened. I moved (or was moved) to a place that couldn’t have been more different… the American midwest! We had extended family there and it was at this time that I began my journey as an actress, scoring one of the leads playing a rebellious teenager (no acting required) in the world premiere of the highly successful play Dimly Perceived Threats to the System; I’m actually listed in the published play as being a member of the very first production!
Great reviews of the play led to my being seen by casting directors, which allowed me to forge a career as a commercial and voice-over artist, but I wasn’t satisfied; I wanted to continue playing strong roles in theatre, film and television, so….
I travelled to London and studied at the acclaimed British drama school LAMDA! What an experience- living in London, studying and playing parts in everything from the classics to the most contemporary plays. A rich (and exhausting) life.
I returned home to the US and moved to Boston and then New York, working constantly in theatre before moving to Los Angeles. I hit the ground running, winning a Rising Star award for my role in the indie film Hannah’s Gift, for which I also scored a Best Actress nomination at the Boston Film Festival. Since then, I have continued to forge a career as an actress and songwriter and, as has been proven to me time and again, the best is yet to come!
